Civil engineers shape our built environment - constructing highways and structures, overpasses and underground passages, aviation hubs and metro networks, as well as water treatment and waste management systems. They might focus on soil mechanics, architectural and structural evaluation, land measurement, or urban development strategies.
At USask, we've transformed first-year engineering to enhance student achievement and inject more enjoyment into the learning process. Our innovative approach, called RE-ENGINEERED, stands unique in Canada. This program will ignite your passion and curiosity for engineering.

With RE-ENGINEERED, you'll encounter continuous assessment through regular assignments and quizzes rather than stressful final exams, allowing for grade improvement if you face early challenges. Scheduled daily support sessions ensure immediate assistance when required. Instead of traditional finals, you'll engage in practical courses exploring various engineering fields.
You'll select your engineering specialization - referred to as your major or discipline - after completing your first year. This focus area will become the core of your advanced studies in subsequent years.
