This certification is designed for teachers educated abroad who have finished a minimum of one year in a teacher training program in their home nation and are authorized to teach there. While teaching experience is advantageous, it's not mandatory. Applicants need to initially reach out to the Saskatchewan Professional Teachers Regulatory Board (SPTRB) to request teacher certification in Saskatchewan. Following an SPTRB evaluation, qualified individuals might then apply for this Internationally Educated Teachers Certificate (IETC).
Important: Earning a Saskatchewan teaching certificate might demand completing extra coursework beyond the IETC program requirements. When necessary, candidates will take additional courses as they become accessible through the ongoing undergraduate program.
