Political Studies explores how power operates and is misused in society's pursuit of justice, fairness, liberty, and collective welfare. This field addresses governmental and governance matters, questions of authority and legitimacy, fairness in resource allocation, individual rights and duties, and peace versus conflict - spanning local, national, and global contexts.
Students will study the elements shaping political choices, such as belief systems, political organizations, leadership dynamics, civic groups, electoral processes, and news outlets. The curriculum also covers challenges to worldwide security like economic deprivation, ecological decline, abuses of fundamental freedoms, population displacement, and other pressing domestic and global concerns.
