The School of Journalism boasts cutting-edge facilities, providing students with direct experience using diverse media production tools and computing resources. These include high-definition video cameras, DSLR cameras, professional lighting equipment, and an assortment of digital audio recorders and microphones. Adobe Cloud applications serve as our primary editing software. Additionally, students have access to fully operational television and radio studios. Our curriculum combines traditional and modern approaches to digital publishing, teaching industry-standard print production techniques. Programs focus on developing analytical skills, investigative techniques, ethical awareness, and comprehensive training in modern journalistic practices for both short-form and in-depth reporting. This education is delivered through a combination of theoretical classroom learning and practical studio sessions. With limited class sizes, students benefit from personalized guidance from seasoned instructors.
Individuals without a journalism undergraduate degree or professional background, but who possess a bachelor's degree in another field, must enroll as Bridging Students. They need to complete specific foundational undergraduate journalism courses with at least a 70% average before qualifying for master's programs. Typically, applicants choosing this pathway should have completed a four-year bachelor's degree. For detailed application procedures regarding the Bridging Student program, prospective students should reach out to the School of Journalism directly.
