Our Biology programs offer diverse study areas including terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems, environmental challenges, wildlife biology, physiology of plants and animals, microbiology, and microbial diseases.
At the U of R, Biology students gain practical experience through hands-on learning in specialized labs, with opportunities to use cutting-edge equipment and technologies in faculty research facilities.
The Biology Department boasts a Tier-1 Canada Research Chair, multiple NSERC panel members, and editorial staff for prominent Canadian and international scientific publications. Many of our biology faculty are acclaimed for their excellence in undergraduate teaching.
