Environmental biology examines the relationships between living organisms and their surroundings, along with how human actions affect ecosystems and biodiversity. This discipline shares many similarities with ecological studies.
Professionals in this field evaluate environmental quality and perform impact analyses for construction initiatives. They design and oversee observation systems and information gathering initiatives, which often require extensive outdoor work like gathering water and earth specimens. These specialists then process the biological and chemical information from their samples using quantitative analysis methods.
