UPEI's Doctor of Applied Health (DrAH) program stands as Atlantic Canada's inaugural professional degree of its kind. This intensive 60-credit, four-year doctoral program employs a cohort-based model emphasizing active participation and interdisciplinary collaboration.
The program's coursework centers on cultivating practical skills grounded in theoretical knowledge and empirical evidence, designed to address real-world challenges across healthcare sectors.
Upon completion, DrAH graduates will possess the expertise to advance applied health scholarship, equipped with diverse research methodologies applicable to concrete health challenges faced by organizations and communities.
Addressing the growing need for practitioner-scholars who can lead teams and foster professional networks, UPEI's program responds to urgent demands for evidence-based preventive measures, health policies, and population health initiatives. The DrAH curriculum specifically prepares graduates to connect health systems, researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, dismantling traditional barriers to facilitate collaborative solutions for shared health objectives.
