The Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology program merges hands-on, practical instruction from Holland College's Bioscience Technology diploma with comprehensive theoretical science courses from the University of Prince Edward Island. This program caters to students seeking thorough, wide-ranging biotechnology education, including research exposure, lab techniques, safety protocols, ethical considerations, and regulatory compliance, while expanding pathways to graduate studies (such as Master's programs). Participants receive core science instruction alongside advanced life sciences coursework at the university level, enhancing the intensive practical skills developed during the college diploma. All students complete workplace training. The program offers two entry routes—students may begin at either Holland College or UPEI—both leading to the same integrated degree. The laboratory-focused components are delivered through Holland College's Bioscience Technology diploma, taken either in the first two years (Path 1 for Holland College starters) or during the third year (Path 2 for UPEI starters).
