Science is about exploration, inquiry, and revelation. It challenges you to expand your thinking and cultivate a drive to extend the frontiers of knowledge. Join us at the University of Ottawa to nurture this intellectual curiosity.
Founded in 1982, the Ottawa-Carleton Geoscience Centre (OCGC) merges the research capabilities of both the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. Graduate students can pursue MSc and PhD degrees in Earth sciences through the Centre's programs.
Research resources are distributed across both campuses. While students benefit from faculty, courses, and infrastructure at both institutions, they must register at their thesis advisor's primary university.
Additionally, the Centre participates in the collaborative chemical and environmental toxicology program, available at both master's and doctoral levels.
Have a bachelor’s degree with a specialization or a major in earth sciences (or equivalent) with a minimum average of 75% (B+) in the last two years and a 70 % (B) average overall.
