The Department of Geography, Environment and Geomatics focuses on studying the connections between human communities and the natural environment through both research and education. Learners explore diverse disciplines such as human geography, physical geography, environmental science, and geospatial technologies. Key research areas encompass Arctic ecosystems, metropolitan studies, global warming impacts, and geospatial analysis techniques.
Beyond bachelor's degrees, the department provides two-year research-focused MA and MSc degrees, a one-year interdisciplinary Master's program in The Anthropocene (MSc), and doctoral studies in Geography. MA/MSc candidates may also join the combined Science, Society and Policy initiative. All graduate programs adhere to the university's established postgraduate policies and requirements.
