The Department of Classics and Religious Studies, part of the Faculty of Arts, provides a graduate program culminating in a Master of Arts degree in Classical Studies. This program focuses primarily on one key area: Late Antiquity (200-700 AD).
This program's goal is to equip students for advanced research in Late Antiquity, a crucial bridge between ancient and medieval times. Students can also study Coptic, Syriac, and Ethiopic languages alongside traditional Latin and Greek. Graduates will gain comprehensive foundational knowledge suitable for PhD-level studies.
The curriculum enhances analytical abilities and expands subject expertise while developing vital academic competencies. Students master research techniques, logical argumentation, scholarly writing, and other transferable skills applicable beyond academic settings. Many alumni secure positions in government agencies at various levels, where their master's-level education is highly regarded.
