The Official Languages and Bilingualism Institute (OLBI) provides a Master of Arts (MA) program in Bilingualism Studies, designed to deliver advanced training in various fields of applied linguistics. This includes studies in bilingualism and multilingualism, cutting-edge methods and technologies for teaching second languages to adults, evaluating adult second language proficiency, as well as language policy development.
Courses are available in both English and French. Participants must complete one mandatory course in each language, while elective courses can be taken in either.
Following University of Ottawa guidelines, students may submit assignments, research papers, theses, and exam responses in either French or English. The program accommodates both full-time and part-time enrollment, offering three completion paths: thesis-based MA, research paper-based MA, or course-based MA.
