This program aims to train registered nurses for advanced practice as primary healthcare nurse practitioners (NPs). Graduates will be equipped to take on leadership positions, enhancing nursing care quality across diverse primary healthcare environments.
Through a blend of theoretical knowledge, research, and practical application, the curriculum delivers comprehensive academic training to tackle health challenges faced by individuals, families, groups, and communities.
The Diploma is available as a post-master's degree pathway.
Instruction combines in-person and distance learning methods. Students receive clinical placements in Eastern Ontario (Ottawa and nearby areas), with graduates responsible for their own transportation to these sites.

Qualification Requirements
To be eligible, candidates must:
Have the following:
An honours bachelor's degree in nursing or a related discipline (e.g. education, health administration, public health) with a minimum overall average of 70% (B) calculated in accordance with the graduate studies guidelines, and
A master's or a doctorate's degree in nursing with a minimum overall average of 70% (B) calculated in accordance with the graduate studies guidelines.
Note: International candidates must check the admission equivalencies for the diploma they received in their country of origin.
Hold a current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
Have the equivalent of two years nursing practice (3,640 hours) as a registered nurse within the last five years.
TOEFL: 550 (paper-based) 79-80 (internet-based), or
IELTS: 6.5 Overall 5.0 Individual (paper-based or internet-based), or
Have the following:
