The Graduate Diploma in Music Performance offers focused, rigorous training for skilled instrumentalists and vocalists who have demonstrated considerable technical and artistic ability, aiming to establish professional music careers.

Students gain performance experience through solo, chamber, operatic, and orchestral engagements both on and off campus, with the program primarily dedicated to refining and elevating their performance capabilities.

This diploma provides two study options: 1) traditional on-campus instruction; and 2) digital learning via online platforms (available for instrumental studies only).
Typically completed in one academic year (September to April), the program accepts applicants holding either a BMus or MMus degree. All candidates must finish within a two-year maximum timeframe.

Qualification Requirements

Candidates are required to have one of the following: a BMus, a four-year honours baccalaureate in music, an equivalent degree, or diploma. A 75 per cent (B+) average is required for the undergraduate degree or diploma. In addition, applicants must pass an audition. Students must understand, speak and write either English or French fluently. In addition, they must have a passive knowledge of Canada's other official language, French or English. According to university regulations, students can write their papers and exams in the official language of their choice (either English or French).
