Founded in 1984, the Ottawa-Carleton Institute of Biology (OCIB) brings together the research capabilities of both the University of Ottawa and Carleton University. This collaborative institution provides graduate studies culminating in MSc and PhD degrees in Biology.
Research resources are jointly utilized across both campuses, allowing students to benefit from faculty expertise, academic courses, and infrastructure at both institutions.
OCIB also contributes to the joint Chemical and Environmental Toxicology program (available for both master's and doctoral candidates).
Additionally, the PhD program is part of the MD/PhD dual degree initiative. Further details can be found on the Faculty of Medicine's official website.
