Economics explores how people and societies allocate scarce resources. It analyzes the creation, allocation, and utilization of products and services. Key concepts include efficiency (optimal resource use) and equity. Because decision-making is fundamental to human behavior, economics provides insights into individual and governmental actions.
Our Department specializes in developing critical thinking beyond conventional wisdom. We establish your academic and professional foundation through rigorous training in statistical analysis and problem-solving. Graduates pursue careers in diverse fields such as government policy, global commerce, corporate finance, advisory services, academic investigation, global aid initiatives, and public interest representation.

During your final year, you may undertake an external research initiative focusing on Canada's economic strategies within governmental or charitable organizations. This practical experience enhances not just your investigative abilities but also collaboration and organizational competencies. It serves as valuable professional networking before degree completion.
