Cutting-edge findings and technological advancements are transforming the biological sciences, demanding comprehensive understanding that spans from genetic levels to entire ecosystems. Our biology (BIO) curriculum equips students with both theoretical frameworks and hands-on experience to advance scientific understanding and engage in discussions on topics ranging from stem cell therapy to wildlife conservation, GMOs, and public health initiatives. The program features multiple educational approaches: conventional lectures complemented by fieldwork, cutting-edge lab experiments utilizing modern equipment, and personalized research guidance.
The biology honors track enables specialized focus within specific biological fields. Participants may specialize by selecting from four concentrations: Cellular and Molecular Biology, Animal Physiology, Plant Science, or Ecology, Evolution and Behavior. This pathway requires an independent research component to develop sophisticated research, analytical, and presentation abilities valuable across professions. Students may alternatively opt for a broader curriculum with advanced coursework options, with opportunities to combine academic study with professional experience through our Cooperative Education initiatives.
