Our art history curriculum offers a comprehensive grounding in global modern and contemporary art, along with curatorial practices and museum studies, supported by critical theoretical frameworks. Faculty employ cross-disciplinary methods incorporating viewpoints from aesthetics, philosophy, feminist theory, gender studies, postcolonial analysis, identity politics, globalization studies, and digital media. Students engage directly with Ottawa's dynamic arts scene through hands-on curatorial initiatives (both on-campus and citywide), internship placements, excursions to national and local galleries, and guest lectures by established curators, artists, and visiting scholars.
