The Counseling program equips future counselors with the skills needed to deliver professional services and assume leadership roles in educational and mental health settings, including schools, colleges, social service agencies, and community health organizations. Participants can select their preferred counseling specialties and undertake supervised clinical practice in relevant practicum placements, subject to availability. The curriculum combines mandatory courses, electives, and either a thesis, project, or comprehensive exam. Students must complete eleven core courses, three electives, and a comprehensive assessment. Those who have finished at least 12 credit hours may apply to the Psychology Department to pursue a thesis or project track. If approved, the thesis option requires eleven core courses, one elective, and a thesis, while the project alternative involves eleven core courses, two electives, and a project.
