Kinesiology research concentrates on bioscience disciplines along with psychological, socio-cultural, managerial, and philosophical dimensions of human performance, sports, and recreation, as well as individual and community health. Studies span from examining the mechanisms of human movement to evaluating volunteer participation in major events and analyzing workplace ergonomics.
As a provincial leader in health research, UNB partners with organizations like The Stan Cassidy Centre for Rehabilitation, Horizon Health, sports agencies, and government bodies. Our Community Outreach Programs foster cross-disciplinary research collaborations. Approximately 50-60 graduate students in research-focused programs gain access to specialized facilities including: the Andrew & Marjorie McCain Human Performance Lab, Behavior Change Lab, Cardiometabolic Exercise & Lifestyle Laboratory, multiple VR labs, and specialized research spaces like the PEADS Lab and Sports Management Virtual Reality Lab.
