The Biology-Psychology program explores the connection between human physiology and behavior. This interdisciplinary curriculum caters to students aiming for careers or advanced studies in neuroscience, human biology, psychology, medicine, dentistry, or pharmacy. During your initial year, you'll complete foundational courses across various scientific fields, which prepare you for more advanced coursework. The Biology-Psychology major covers specialized subjects including perception, animal cognition, learning processes, social and developmental psychology, along with microbiology, genetics, and physiology. Students considering professional graduate programs like medical or dental school are strongly encouraged to take elective courses in humanities and social sciences, particularly English and French.

Qualification Requirements

Students must complete high school for admission to the University of New Brunswick. They must complete six specific high school courses, according to their program of choice. UNB takes the overall average of the high school grades achieved in these six courses to calculate the student’s "minimum admission average", which is used to determine admissibility.

Senior English Literature

Senior Math, including Pre-Calculus

1 other academic maths

Senior Chemistry

1 of Senior Physics, Senior Biology or Senior Geology (Senior Physics is required for entry into Health Sciences)

1 elective from group 1 or 2

Minimum admission average: 75% (The average marks in Pre-Calculus Math, Chemistry and the best other Science course must be at least 75 %.)
