The nursing profession consistently offers abundant career opportunities. For those dedicated to patient care and energized by fast-paced educational settings, a nursing career could be your ideal path. Nursing professionals serve diverse and at-risk communities across numerous healthcare environments both domestically and internationally, including educational institutions, medical centers, childcare facilities, nursing homes, and public health clinics. UNB's four-year Bachelor of Nursing curriculum focuses primarily on nursing studies while incorporating complementary coursework in subjects like English, Biology, and Psychology. Earning this degree prepares graduates to take the NCLEX national licensing exam.
Alumni of UNB's nursing program have achieved prestigious roles including Canada Research Chairs, military leadership positions in the Canadian Armed Forces, hospital administration roles, elected government offices, and influential positions in healthcare organizations - impacting lives through both systemic change and individual patient care.
Practical experience
From their first year, UNB nursing students gain valuable hands-on training through clinical rotations. They also collaborate with partner agencies to enhance community health initiatives, disease prevention efforts, and public education programs.
