UNB's combined Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education (BABEd) program is designed for passionate learners and those who inspire learning. It's ideal for students seeking top-tier education. At UNB Saint John, the BABEd program draws individuals pursuing dual objectives: obtaining the qualifications to teach elementary grades (K-5) while simultaneously earning their Bachelor of Arts degree.

Graduates of the BABEd program become eligible for New Brunswick's Level 5 teaching certification, which has reciprocity across Canada and most U.S. states. Our intimate class settings foster enhanced engagement and teamwork among students, faculty, and peers.

Practical experience components include:
30 hours of community school service
Two week-long classroom observations (during Years 1 and 2)
A comprehensive 15-week teaching practicum in either a public school or a Canadian-Chinese school in China (final year)
Local school tutoring opportunities
