UNB provides two distinct pathways for exploring classical antiquity. For those aiming to continue their studies of ancient Greece and Rome at the graduate level, we provide a specialized curriculum emphasizing ancient Greek and Latin languages, along with critical analysis of classical texts in their original forms. For students seeking professional careers after completing their BA, we offer a humanities-based program covering subjects like history, mythology, philosophy, and art history. Both pathways include opportunities to take archaeology courses.
Experiential learning opportunities:
Archaeology students frequently engage in overseas field school programs
Classics students can gain international exposure through short-term study trips to Rome, Italy, Greece, and Turkey via UNB's Travel Study Program
A chosen cohort of students visits Greece to learn modern Greek and participate in archaeological excavations
