As a Classical Studies student, you'll immerse yourself in the ancient Mediterranean world. Our program emphasizes Greek and Roman civilizations through courses exploring their literature, myths, history, culture, art, and archaeological discoveries. You can study Latin, the tongue of ancient Rome and medieval Europe, or Greek, the language of philosophical texts, dramatic works, and biblical scriptures. The Classics curriculum is enriched by complementary offerings from Philosophy, Religion, and Liberal Arts departments. Numerous courses require no prerequisites, making them accessible to students across all majors. First-year students will find our 200-level classes particularly approachable. All that's required is curiosity and passion to embark on your exploration of antiquity.
