The Agronomy program provides students with comprehensive knowledge about soil and plant sciences, covering everything from agricultural crop cultivation to the stewardship of land and water assets.
Agronomy focuses on cultivating field crops and responsibly overseeing land and water resources. Its goal is to address the needs for food, animal feed, energy sources, and biological materials while preserving ecological balance. The Bachelor of Science (Agriculture) in Agronomy equips learners with skills for agricultural land management. The curriculum delves into soil science, terrain principles, water conservation, farming methods, plant growth processes, and seed plant biology. While examining global agronomy practices, the program particularly highlights agricultural techniques relevant to Western Canada.
