Bishop’s University sits in a fertile agricultural area, providing students with chances to engage with local farmers in the Estrie region through visits and partnerships. The SAFS programs specifically prioritize hands-on learning in the field.
Additionally, the SAFS programs stand apart by concentrating on enhancing sustainability across all agricultural and food system dimensions—addressing social, economic, and environmental factors to give students a comprehensive grasp of food systems from production to consumption and further.
The curriculum explores diverse elements of contemporary agriculture and food systems, covering scientific, business, and societal challenges, along with worldwide food security and climate change effects. SAFS courses integrate practical experiences to equip students with the expertise required for careers in agriculture, entrepreneurship, food policy, research, and various other fields.
