Gateway to design professions
An Environmental Design degree can pave the way for roles such as architectural technologist, communications specialist, furniture creator, project lead, or technical draftsman. Graduates with a BEnvD qualification meet the requirements for admission to postgraduate programs in Architecture, Urban Planning, Interior Design, and Landscape Architecture, along with other advanced studies internationally.
Studio-based learning
The Environmental Design program centers on a studio-based approach, creating a space to examine the intricate connections between people and their constructed and natural surroundings that shape our cultural landscapes. Throughout four years, you'll acquire essential expertise and competencies for diverse design careers.
Campus resources
Students in Environmental Design can utilize the Faculty of Architecture's extensive research and creative spaces. The CADLab features 18 high-performance workstations equipped with professional software, multiple photography areas, self-service scanners, and large-format printing. The FABLab and workshop provide laser cutting systems, additive manufacturing devices, CNC machinery, vacuum forming equipment, and various tools for wood and plastic fabrication.
Hands-on education
The Cooperative Education/Work Program delivers real-world experience, financial support for studies, and career direction. Exchange opportunities lasting a semester and field excursions ranging from single-day to three-week durations will broaden your outlook and transform how you perceive the world.
