Our programs guide learners to analyze how religious beliefs have influenced personal identities, social groups, and global perspectives. Through examining sacred writings, artifacts, rituals, and digital media, we investigate both ancient and modern spiritual traditions. The curriculum highlights the evolution and variety of human societies while exploring how people preserve customs, innovate lifestyles, or challenge historical norms.
Our professors specialize in major world religions such as Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Judaism, and ancient Roman practices, with regional focus on Europe, the Middle East, North America, and South Asia. Their interdisciplinary approach incorporates techniques from anthropology, historical studies, philosophical inquiry, psychological research, and sociological analysis.

Qualification Requirements
The following are minimum requirements for entry into the Religion (BA) program. Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.
Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.
Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
