The honors program provides an in-depth exploration of a specific academic discipline for students seeking specialized undergraduate training. This pathway is ideal for those planning to pursue graduate studies.
Students typically join the program after their first year, though admission may be possible at later stages of undergraduate education.
To obtain a BA Honors degree, candidates must complete 120 credit hours while maintaining a minimum 3.00 GPA across all coursework.
Unlike standard programs, honors students focus on a single honors subject (or two for double honors) rather than combining a major and minor. This curriculum demands more specialized courses and offers greater academic depth compared to the advanced program.
Students must eventually declare their academic focus with a major and minor, at which point they can choose between the BA Advanced (4-year) or BA Honors (4-year) degree, provided they meet the necessary qualifications.
