Remote sensing offers a fresh perspective to admire, track, and analyze our planet. Thanks to advancements in Earth observation and satellite systems, we can now witness our world—and humanity's influence on it—through live digital visuals. These snapshots enable us to study and measure features and trends across land, sky, sea, and space. This rapidly evolving field drives the geospatial data transformation, supporting innovations like Google™ Earth while deepening our grasp of phenomena such as climate shifts.
Remote sensing also operates on a microscopic level, generating medical imaging like X-rays, MRIs, and diagnostic scans without invasive procedures. This breakthrough has revolutionized research into intricate bodily systems, including brain function. As a remote sensing scholar, you'll explore geography, environmental studies, and physics alongside specialized coursework. You'll also master capturing and analyzing imagery with advanced tools, some exclusive to the University of Lethbridge's BSc in Remote Sensing program.
