Political science involves the methodical examination of governance, political systems, and political actions. It explores how societies manage political disputes, select leaders, make governmental choices, and establish and enforce policies and legislation. This analysis can focus on Canada's federal system, provincial and municipal governments, foreign nations, or international relations. The discipline also examines how politicians perceive their responsibilities to each other and whether decisions stem from ethical considerations or practical expediency. As a political science student, you'll investigate governmental foundations, structures, and operations. The program combines both political theory and management coursework. The political science curriculum provides adaptable course selections to align with individual aspirations and professional goals. Beyond core requirements, students can select six political science electives and three management electives. You may also pursue a minor to broaden your expertise in a complementary field. Several minors pair effectively with political science, including accounting, family and small business operations, marketing, indigenous business administration, indigenous governance, and global management.
