The Global Rights Studies degree modules present students with distinctive, ethical, and contemporary methods for critically examining and advocating for individual and collective rights worldwide. These courses are designed acknowledging that many universal rights principles, legal frameworks, and protective measures often unintentionally perpetuate exclusion. The curriculum challenges conventional, limited interpretations of rights, particularly the narrow "human rights" paradigm. Instead, it enables students to explore how marginalized individuals and communities navigate complex political landscapes when demanding autonomy, rights recognition, and self-determination globally. This academic program fundamentally investigates the universal challenge of securing the fundamental right to have rights.
