Geography explores the varied physical features of our world. It encompasses everything from how Earth's surface initially formed to humanity's environmental impacts throughout history and into tomorrow. This program primarily equips you with analytical skills to study how all living things and natural systems interconnect globally - and occasionally extraterrestrially - to solve practical challenges.

Our department excels in geographic information systems (GIS), remote sensing, water studies, and rural/urban research - fields experiencing remarkable expansion in academic research, education, and career opportunities for alumni.

Students gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology used across geography, economics, environmental science, agriculture, ecology, urban planning and more, including advanced resources like the Alberta Water and Environmental Science Building. This premier facility supports groundbreaking investigations by our distinguished faculty into diverse subjects including atmospheric conditions, aquatic systems, ice formations, geological deposits, and ecological relationships between flora and fauna.
