Sexuality and gender identity, including transgender perspectives, have deep historical roots connected to masculinity, heteronormative standards, systemic discrimination, power dynamics, and social inequalities. Societal perceptions of sexuality and gender shape political, economic, and cultural structures while determining individuals' sense of inclusion and societal freedoms.
The Sexualities, Genders and Social Change program examines diverse academic perspectives on human identity, physical expression, and personal representation. This interdisciplinary curriculum incorporates frameworks from feminist theory, postcolonial and decolonial scholarship, transnational analysis, LGBTQ+ and queer studies, critical race theory, indigenous perspectives, masculinity studies, and disability studies. Learners integrate approaches from Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, and Business disciplines, developing essential competencies to become transformative leaders advocating for progressive social evolution.
Community Involvement and Global Perspectives, Analytical and Innovative Thinking, Effective Communication, Research Methodology and Evaluation, Comprehensive Knowledge Acquisition, Career Growth and Ethical Practice
