The Environmental Governance Major equips students with knowledge about environmental governance practices and prospects in Canada and internationally. Drawing from geography and political science fundamentals, the program enhances learning with interdisciplinary courses from social sciences and humanities. Participants will acquire: essential knowledge about environmental change processes and governance systems; insights into geographical, political, and economic influences on global environmental governance; exposure to cutting-edge methods and real-world examples; and the flexibility to focus elective choices on areas like Indigenous governance, environmental advocacy and communication, or environmental policy. Program graduates will be prepared for professional roles in government agencies, environmental NGOs, non-profit organizations, and corporate sectors.
