The Associate of Arts in Media and Communication Studies explores the dynamics of information — its creation, dissemination, and consumption.

This program examines various media sectors, including social platforms, and their evolving nature. Learners will analyze the impact of advertising and commercial messaging, Canada's role in the global digital landscape, and the evolving definition of media literacy. Essentially, students gain insights into how communication advancements are transforming both individual lives and societal structures.

While valuable for those pursuing technical media production careers, these courses don't cover hands-on production techniques. For instance, while the music business is analyzed, audio engineering isn't included.

This associate degree prepares graduates for immediate employment, transfer to Canadian bachelor's programs, or progression into UFV's Bachelor of Arts (with MACS minor/extended minor). Additionally, graduates qualify for third-year entry into Royal Roads University's Bachelor of Arts in Professional Communication.
