The UBC Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine provides an exceptional chance to learn from globally distinguished faculty and innovative research initiatives. Experimental Pathology encompasses diverse biomedical investigations related to human diseases. To comprehensively understand disease mechanisms, researchers must first grasp normal biological functions, which is why UBC's work spans multiple disciplines and methodologies. Research encompasses all biological scales—from molecular studies of proteins and lipoproteins to cellular and cancer biology, animal models exploring pulmonary/cardiovascular disorders and infectious processes, through to human population studies and AIDS research.
