The Neuroscience Graduate Program is dedicated to training and assisting students as they deepen their understanding of brain science through immersive research opportunities. The program upholds values of fairness, diversity, and inclusion while adapting to each student's unique requirements and educational history. Students build a comprehensive foundation in neuroscience through two foundational courses covering molecular/cellular and systems neuroscience. They can also choose from supplementary courses in consultation with their advisor. With a strong emphasis on research, students begin hands-on work immediately in their supervisor's lab and affiliated department, exploring diverse areas of both fundamental and clinical neuroscience. The program's cross-departmental nature fosters collaborative research that transcends traditional neuroscience disciplines.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants for a master's degree program must hold the academic equivalent of a four-year bachelor's degree from UBC with: a minimum overall average in the B+ grade range (76-79% at UBC) in third-year level and above courses; or academic standing with at least 12 credits of third- or fourth-year courses in the A grade range (80% or higher at UBC) in the field of study; or applicants who have a four-year bachelor's degree, or its academic equivalent, which does not meet the requirements stated above, but who have had significant formal training and relevant professional experience to offset such deficiencies, may be granted admission on the recommendation of the appropriate graduate program or faculty and approval of the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies.
