The Technology Studies Education program serves as a platform for examining and researching information and communication technologies (ICT), emerging media, and technological philosophy. Faculty and student focus areas encompass curriculum design, teaching methodologies, scholarly inquiry, and innovation in fields like emotional AI, digital subcultures and human-machine interactions, digital ecosystems and inclusion, networked intelligence, interactive entertainment, ICT implementation across K-16 educational settings (in-person, blended, and virtual learning), copyright issues, open-source movements, and media analysis. The curriculum features foundational courses, diverse electives, and multiple professional development options.
One to two years’ of teacher education; or a four-year Bachelor’s degree in Education. In special circumstances teacher education may be waived for those applicants who have a university degree with sufficient standing and experience related to their proposed field of study.
PREREQUISITES / COURSE REQUIREMENTS
Normally 18 credits of senior course work or a professional concentration in the area of interest.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Normally two years teaching experience or other relevant professional experience.
