This specialization adopts a developmental perspective when examining giftedness, encompassing factors related to different growth stages and methods for identification and curriculum design that emphasize creating properly aligned educational experiences. The curriculum places the investigation of highly capable individuals within frameworks of cognitive and social development theories. Practical fieldwork involving observations, interviews, and instruction with individuals and small groups will enable students to comprehend the unique requirements of gifted learners at preschool, elementary, and secondary levels.
