Psychology is a multifaceted field dedicated to exploring the foundations of human behavior, cognition, and feelings. At UBC, psychology began as just one course in 1915, originally taught within the Philosophy Department. As time passed, both course offerings and faculty expanded, leading to the establishment of the standalone Department of Psychology in 1958.
Quantitative methods in psychology encompass diverse subjects, from mathematically modeling psychological processes (mathematical psychology) to theories and tools for psychological assessment, individual variation, statistical analysis, and general data interpretation techniques.
