The Health, Outdoor, and Physical Education (HOPE) initiative is designed for elementary, middle, and high school teachers passionate about: holistic methods in health and wellness promotion, nutrition and health awareness, emotional wellness, sociocultural perspectives on fitness and health, environmental connections, outdoor learning experiences, leadership development, hands-on learning approaches, active lifestyles, exercise science, motor skill development, game-based teaching strategies, foundational movement skills, and equitable education models promoting fairness and inclusion.

Qualification Requirements

One-two year/s of teacher education, or a four-year Bachelor's degree in Education. In special circumstances teacher education may be waived for those applicants who have a university degree with sufficient standing and experience related to their proposed field of study.

Holder of a degree that is academically equivalent to a UBC 4-year Bachelor's degree. A minimum 76% average.

IELTS - A minimum overall band score of 6.5 is required with a minimum score of 6.0 in each component.
TOEFL IBT - 92 for the internet-based exam with minimum component scores of 22 (reading, listening ,writing, speaking). TOEFL PBT - 580
