The Master of Architecture (MArch) program provides an accredited three-year graduate curriculum. This rigorous professional program consists primarily of mandatory courses, blending design studios with studies in architectural history, theory, technical systems, materials, and design representation. Students can cultivate their unique perspectives and specialized abilities through elective design studios, carefully chosen electives, and particularly through their Graduation Project.
Students expand their professional connections by collaborating with dedicated faculty and practicing designers who participate in studio critiques, thesis committees, and mentorship initiatives. As part of the Faculty of Applied Science, learners benefit from access to one of Canada's top research libraries and can connect with experts in engineering and urban planning. Through international study options, participants can explore evolving cultural influences in architecture and landscape design.
Applicants to the MArch program must hold a degree in almost any discipline [BA, BSc, BFA, BASc, etc.] that is academically equivalent to a UBC four-year Bachelor's degree.
