The NAME department features a collaborative team of specialists and investigators dedicated to studying marine vessel and offshore platform design and engineering. Their work spans multiple disciplines, covering hydrodynamics, marine architecture, fluid-structure dynamics, motion control, ocean energy systems, and underwater acoustics. To enhance sustainability, marine systems must achieve optimal energy use while reducing environmental impact, including greenhouse gas emissions and acoustic disturbances. Faculty members utilize cutting-edge computational methods for multiphysics modeling, performance optimization, and smart control systems for eco-friendly marine technologies. The program also prioritizes student development, combining academic instruction with hands-on research opportunities for both graduate and undergraduate learners.
