Our program offers a multidisciplinary approach, integrating concepts from geotechnical engineering, hydrogeology, and geology to equip students with adaptable skills for addressing diverse real-world challenges involving earth systems.
Geological Engineering faculty pursue research across these key domains:
slope instability, mass wasting processes, flow trajectory studies, risk evaluation
aquifer dynamics, subsurface pollution & mitigation, reactive solute modeling, environmental mineralogy
fracture mechanics & rock engineering, surface/underground excavation design, underground construction
Additional specialties encompass soil mechanics, environmental geoscience, resource geology, and geophysical applications. Prospective students should contact faculty directly to learn about active research projects.
