The Master of Applied Science (M.A.Sc.) program is designed for students seeking a research-focused graduate degree culminating in a thesis. Typically completed in approximately two years, the M.A.Sc. requires candidates to develop their thesis under the supervision of a Research Supervisor who approves its technical content and conclusions. A second reviewer must also endorse the thesis and may suggest modifications. Both the supervisor and reviewer jointly determine the final thesis grade. Full-time M.A.Sc. students must spend at least one winter term at the University, while part-time enrollment is also available. Regardless of study mode, all candidates must finish the program within five years of starting.
