Today's global landscape confronts numerous public infrastructure challenges stemming from intricate system interactions, aging-related decay, and climate change effects. Canada and other nations urgently require modernized and more sustainable infrastructure systems to address these evolving environmental conditions. This course-based master's degree prepares students with essential competencies to create, manage, and sustain eco-friendly infrastructure networks for communities. Key focus areas encompass pavements, structures, bridges, dams, water supply, drainage and sewage networks, waste handling, and energy distribution systems. The curriculum will thoroughly examine these critical subjects:

Introduction to civil infrastructure networks
Comprehensive analysis and design principles for infrastructure elements, including structural, geotechnical, hydraulic, environmental, and transportation engineering considerations
Lifecycle cost evaluation
Asset administration strategies
Infrastructure condition analysis
Reliability evaluation of existing structures and components
Restoration techniques for aging infrastructure
Climate change implications for infrastructure planning, design, and upkeep
Asset management technologies (GIS and specialized software)

Designed for both recent graduates and practicing professionals, this program enhances expertise in sustainable infrastructure solutions. Graduates will be equipped to serve society through positions with municipal agencies, provincial/federal governments, and engineering firms across Canada and internationally.

Students may complete the program through full-time (typically 1-2 years) or part-time enrollment options.
