Our research encompasses laboratory experiments and field studies to analyze soil properties, along with advanced numerical simulations. These efforts are part of a vibrant geotechnical network, with the Vancouver Geotechnical Society standing out as one of Canada's most engaged professional groups. Collaborative projects frequently involve government agencies and academic-industry alliances. Current research focuses on several key domains:

advanced soil property analysis in our cutting-edge soil mechanics lab,
studying soil-geosynthetic interactions through controlled experiments,
on-site geotechnical and environmental assessments using field testing methods,
examining the mechanisms behind shallow slope failures,
computer-based modeling of earthen constructions, and
seismic response studies in geotechnical earthquake engineering.
