The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at UBC stands as a premier hub for immunology studies, genetic engineering advancements, and investigations into infectious diseases along with environmental microbiology applications. Students develop core biological understanding while exploring cellular structures, molecular processes, immune system functions, and beyond. Microbiology focuses on microscopic organisms like bacteria, fungi, viruses, algae, and protozoa. Immunology examines the body's defense mechanisms against pathogenic microorganisms. Combined, these disciplines explore microbial management for disease prevention. The Honours program offers students opportunities for deep specialization within specific research areas.
Graduation from a university-preparatory program at a senior secondary school: Higher Secondary School Certificate awarded on completion of Standard XII. Certificates must be official. Photocopies are acceptable if certified by school principal, head, or counsellor. Notarized copies are not acceptable.
